These rules define how Intercontinental Certification Sdn. Bhd.’s certification marks and accreditation symbols shall be represented, and the conditions governing their use.
1. Authorization to Use
i. A client whose management system has been certified by Intercontinental Certification Sdn. Bhd. is entitled to use the applicable certification mark.
ii. For multi-site organizations, only sites covered under the certified scope are permitted to use the mark.
iii. The right to use the certification mark does not extend to parent companies, subsidiaries, or related entities unless such entities are explicitly included in the certification.
2. Use with Accreditation Symbol
i. Certification marks may be used independently or together with the accreditation symbol that appears on the management system certificate.
ii. When used, the marks shall clearly identify the specific management system standard(s) for which certification has been granted.
iii. For certifications covering multiple standards (e.g., ISO 9001 and ISO 14001), a single mark may be used, provided that all relevant standards and the certification number(s) are displayed below the mark.
3. Permitted Applications
i. Certification marks may be used on promotional and publicity materials, such as brochures, corporate literature, websites, letterheads, advertisements, and signage.
ii. Certification marks shall not be used on:
· Products or product packaging (primary or secondary)
· Laboratory test reports
· Calibration or inspection reports
· Any certificate issued by the client
As these items are deemed to represent products or services, not management systems.
4. Design and Reproduction
i. The official artwork of certification marks is available from Intercontinental Certification Sdn. Bhd. upon request.
ii. In pre-printed materials (e.g., stationery, newspapers, or magazines), certification marks may be reproduced in the predominant colour of those materials, provided readability is maintained.
iii. Marks and associated text shall retain their relative proportions, though they may be enlarged or reduced uniformly.
iv. The minimum size must ensure that all associated text is clearly legible.
v. Certification marks shall always be displayed with their associated text (e.g., certification number and applicable standard).
5. Restrictions and Prohibitions
i. Misuse of certification marks that may mislead the public or misrepresent the scope of certification is strictly prohibited.
ii. The use of Intercontinental Certification Sdn. Bhd.’s corporate name, logo, trademarks, or any other intellectual property under any circumstance requires prior written approval from the Chief Executive Officer.
iii. The prohibition of unauthorised use of the logo and name of Medical Device Authority is applicable to any activity, statement or publication unless obtained written approval from Chief Executive of MDA.
